Since 1994 an extensive range of IBEDA products has been approved by the Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

The UL approval for IBEDA flashback arrestors covers all thread connections with international sizes according to ISO/TR 28821. IBEDA is the first and so far the only manufacturer of gas safety devices who has received a UL approval for all thread sizes according to:
- European Standard EN560
- Compressed Gas Association CGA-E1-2000 (USA)
- JIP Japanese Industrial Standards Committee JIS B6805
- Standards Australia AS4267

Design-type tested according to UL Standard
The UL Certification includes the design-type testing according to the UL standard (Standard of safety UL1357 or UL1358) and the regular review and testing of all serial products based on the UL Follow-Up Service. This means that the Field Representative examines the IBEDA production on a quarterly basis. As per the UL regulations, samples of UL approved products are reviewed and sent to the UL Follow-Up Service department for further testing.
UL-regulations for testing
The regulations cover:
- the continuous production audit (manufacturing, testing equipment, product marking, shipments)
- continuous flame test on an annual basis
- annual testing of sealing material
- annual drawing review
