THE NEW INTERNATIONAL STANDARD FOR GAS SAFETY DEVICES

EN 730-1 REPLACED BY DIN EN ISO 5175-1

We like to inform our customers in good time that, effective from 1 march 2018, the “DIN EN 730-1” standard, and thus also the marking of safety devices, has been replaced by the new international standard “DIN EN ISO 5175-1”.

AT LARGE, the DIN EN ISO 5175-1 stipulates the configuration and the testing processes (function, usage and testing of safety devices), which are to be conducted by the manufacturer, in the same way as the previous version did.

IN PARTICULAR, the DIN EN ISO 5175-1 stipulates the general requirements and the testing of flashback arrestors with integrated flame arrestor for Fuel Gases and Oxygen or Compressed Air, which are installed downstream the pressure regulators or upstream the burners for welding, cutting and allied processes.

A transition period for implementation was granted until 1 September 2018.
